Taipei Zoo
Honestly, even someone who has an age like me would enjoy the zoo. It is a huge place with varieties of animals. Some of my favourites were the panda and penguins.
MRT: Brown Line
Stop: Taipei Zoo Station (last stop)
Operating hours: 09:00 to 17:00 daily (gates close at 16:00)
Entrance Fee: NTD 60
If you reach the end of the zoo and would want to come back to the gates,the zoo offers shuttle train service for an exact fare of NTD 5. You can find the shuttles at the Shuttle Train Station and Bird World Station.
Maokong through Maokong Gandola
Maokong Gandola is a 5-minute walk from Taipei Zoo.
Since we explored Taipei Zoo, we road a shuttle that took us to the Taipei Zoo - South Station of the Gandola for NTD 5.
Moakong Gandola has 4 stations, Taipei Zoo Station, Taipei Zoo - South Station (near the end of the zoo), Zhinan Temple Station and Maokong Station.
Operating hours: Monday (1st Mon of the month) 09:00 to 21:00; Tues-Thurs 09:00 to 21:00; Fri and the day before a national holiday 09:00 to 22:00; Sat and national holidays 08:30 to 22:00; Sun and last day of national holidays 08:30 to 21:00
Price:
Single Journey Ticket - NTD 70 for 1 station; NTD100 for 2 stations and NTD120 for 3 stations
Easycard holders receive a NTD20 discount on weekdays (except holidays)
Easycard holders who use their card to enter Taipei Zoo receive a NTD 20 discount on one subsequent trip in the Maokong Gandola
From Maokong Gandola Station, you can go back to Taipei Zoo Station through:
Taxi - NTD70/person
Gandola - NTD120/person
Shuttle bus - NTD15/person
Elephant Mountain
This mountain derived its name from the shape of its peak. The travel to the top is long pavement of stairs that will take around 30-45 mins of hike. The view from the top will definitely be worth it.
